Unfortunetely the morals of society are not based on any personal reality. Love should be the criterion. It does not matter what age, nationality, race... If you fall in love with someone younger or older it does not matter what people think.
It may be of interet for you to know that astrologically people who are 12, 19 or even 29 years apart in age can have a very close connection - it can feel like a "soul mate" attraction.
So when middle age men falls in love with a much younger woman, it is natural that he is looking for a refreshment of his own energy - to become youg again. Reltionship is a trade-off: he gives wisdom and experience and she return with passion and enthusiasm for life.
So why do middle -age women not allow themselves the same?
They are too worried by others opinions, but they can also give a young man her wisdom. And many young men actually want that, they do prefer older women to help guide them in life and teach them about love and relationship.
But why do you want a young man just do youcan die together?
We never know how long we will live, perhaps you wil go before him!
Trust in love. Forget the age.

There may be numerous reasons why not many women prefer younger dates:
1. They may feel more like a mother than a girlfriend in the relationship and younger men may also see them as such-besides who wants to look like the mother of your date?
2. Most younger men tend to be more selfish and insensitive when it comes to emotions and sex
3. Not all women can live to be 80, we will all die someday sooner or later. Our life is like the lilies of the valley, it will bloom in the morning and will soon be gone in the noon. Only God knows how long we can live. So instead of seeking out looks and durability, we should be more interested in a person we can happily share life with-be they younger or older.
4. May be you need to ask yourself what you are afraid of; is it loneliness from loosing a beloved partner and help-meet, or pure boredom and of loosing someone you've overtly relied on for years.
5. May be those older women who date younger men are few because theirs is a relationship based on love and respect for each other-age may be a less likely reason.
All in all, every women has a reason for their choice of partners and that needs to be respected.

I tend to think of younger guys as not being sure what they want in life, and as being messy. Not that I want a neat freak, but I don't want to be cleaning some young guy's noodles off the floor for him. This might not always be true or fair. I'm attracted to maturity, but I realize maturity and age aren't always the same thing. I try to stay open minded.

I am married to a man 8 years my senior because I have found men younger than me are always so immature. There is no assurances in life and he or I could die tomorrow. Live life to the fullest everyday and let nature takes its course.

I'm dating a man 17 years younger than me. I don't think age is that important. If you love each other and it doesn't bother either of you and you're both happy then don't worry who might die first, just live for the moment and the rest will just happen...

I do see your point, but at the end of the day, age shouldn't really come into it. If you connect with someone and there is a spark, what does age matter?
That said, I know several women in relationships with younger men and yes, it is more than just a fling or casual sex!
HTH : )

I think more women ARE dating younger men these days. I date younger men too. I have no idea why... I don't do it purposely, it just ends up that way.

My thoughts are that you're rationalizing. Most older women date younger men either because it makes them feel younger (when they're old) or because the woman has control issues and thinks it'll be easier to dominate (control) a younger man in the relationship.
BTW, the life expectancy of a woman depends on environmental factors more than it does in men. Sorry, but the truth is women are more fragile. For example, in an office environment, women on the average live six years less than a man...not longer.

i've gone both ways. my first husband was 5 years older than me, but we didn't seem that much different in maturity.
my current husband is 5 years younger, and he actually seems MORE mature than me sometimes.
i dont usually care about people's ages, just a number that doesn't necessarily measure life experiences.
