I'm going to Auckland next week for the big day out. I'm from Australia. I'm staying in the heart of the city in Auckland and would like to check out some cool clubs and pubs

If you re staying in the heart of the city, like you said, then you will have no problems finding great pubs and clubs, even if you go through the little alley ways you will find awesome bars, they are all through out the city and majority of them are pumping. There are no clubs near the airport so don't waste your time hunting one down as soon as you step off the plane lol.

Stick to central Auckland, thats where you will find the better clubs. I lived in downtown Auckland for a few years, but I havent been in NZ for two years now.... however the night life is fun!
There are some great clubs on K Road, there was (im not sure if its still there or not..) a hip hop classy club called 420... its near the red overbridge on K Road (420 K road).
Anyway, you cant go wrong if you stick to central Auckland, theres such an ecclectic mix of everything. You shouldnt be bored.

The harbour-side city of Auckland is New Zealand's true metropolis and the vibrant financial center of the country, know it with hotelbye . Auckland is also called the "City of Sails" and it sprawls out in helter-skelter style between Manukau Harbour (to the west) and Waitemata Harbour (to the east) with the compact key town district right next to the waterway. For many guests to New Zealand, Auckland is the point of birth, and a few days soaking up the social and outdoor attractions here should really be on every tourist's to-do list. The monuments, museums, and artwork galleries listed below are some of the best in the country. The suburban coastline of the town is speckled with fine beaches, and the hawaiian islands of the Hauraki Gulf provide a taste of New Zealand's spectacular national park landscape close to the city's doorstep. Auckland happens to be a town worth seeing.
