I maybe planning to play certain games (straetgy, RPGS, or The Sims 2) and video editing. Please give good reasons and comparison. Thank you

I also like to note that I am not much of a computer person

And yes, I am aware that it is not better, but are they any different?

Neither! They both use shared memory. Avoid cards that have turbo cache or hyper memory. They take away some of your system memory to function.
Chose one that uses only it's own memory.

Actually the Radeon is slightly better, it has a better memory bandwidth considering it uses 128 bit instead of 64 bit memory on the nVidia. Don't expect anything that great with either however, they should play the Sims alright, but don't be fooled by how simple it looks, the Sims actually does require a fairly good graphics card.

It's year-old technology, but should be plenty of horsepower for the sort of games you are playing. You get what you pay for.
