No, NOT a 911 but the supercar. I've seen a guy on a highway near my house twice now. I was able to pace him and of course I sped up and slowed down a few times with my windows down so I could hear the engine as it passed. Kind of had a high whine to it. I wish I could have heard it opened up though. Awesome car!

I have seen one, but it was in a car shop. I live in South Africa and according to the law you cannot drive a left hand drive vehicle anymore, so it is now illegal to sell left hand drive cars-the Carrera GT being one of them! Besides i think there are only 2 in the country. I love that car though!!

Great question!

I've only seen 4 on the road and 2 at dealerships. I had a great comparison in Malibu in the canyons on Kanan Road. We were driving our Boxster with the top down. A Ford GT came up behind us, but got stuck in traffic. What a great sounding car! Then a Porsche Carrera GT went by the other way. The sound of the engine/exhaust was incredible. Tight, throaty and powerful. The Ford GT sounded like a lightweight compared to the Porsche.

A friend of mine has a Ford GT and it is an awesome car. I personally don't know anyone who has a Carrera GT, but if I win the lotto, I'll be a proud owner!

Nope. Not in my neighborhood ! Extremely rare, except on a track somewhere. But check out the prices below:

Here is some info on the numbers produced in a 3 year period from a website:Stuttgart’s supercar goes on sale after its world debut at Geneva on March 4. Exact pricing is still under wraps, but Porsche confirms its road rocket will cost between $350,000 and $400,000. Prospective customers will need to be quick, though. Supply will be limited to just 1000 cars—all left-hand drive—over a planned three-year production run. This number is down from the 2000 cars Porsche officials said would be needed to make the venture profitable. Porsche North America says it has about 1000 “serious prospects” for the car.

I have seen lots in Toronto. There is an office building downtown with 2 daily drivers. Yellow and Silver.

I also saw one at the Porsche club meet at one of the dealers. Up close it's amazing. Real metalic whine to the engine note.

I was passed buy a black one on the highway but I couldn't get my window down fast. He must have been going 240+kph. Sooo Nice.

Rumor has it that Porsche is going to make another one in a few years that will beat the Bugatti's 250MPH top speed.

The Carrera GT is a very rare car not only because they haven't made that many and are very expensive, but because they don't make them anymore. The workers that used to make the Carrera GT are now making that ugly Porsche Cayenne.

They're fairly rare cars - though depending on where you are, they are around. Out on the roads, I've seen them a few times (two different cars, one of which I see near my office about once a month). I've seen a couple out at Open Track events, and a few more at PCNA sponsored events, as well as one at a PCA event.
