You have a bunch of peanuts staring blankly because they don't get it followed by Calvin slapping his forehead wondering how the peanuts can be so retarded. Hobbes stands by giggling having told Calvin the joke would go over the peanuts heads. Snoopy and Woodstock are trying desperately to dissociate saying "We don't know these people."
Calvin - too smart for his own good
Hobbes - exactly smart enough to rule the world
peanuts - wards of the state. still in print because its politically correct to show sympathy towards those that Darwinism didn't take care of early enough.
Except Snoopy and Woodstock- they've been running away from home for years - where have they been going when they fly around in Snoopy's doghouse? Over to Calvin's for a game of Calvin Ball.
