How would you categorize Sisters of Mercy ? Is it a new band ?

I heard some really cool drums on my XM radio, I noticed on the display a band called "Sisters of Mercy: Temple of Love."

Sisters of Mercy have been around since 1980.
First and Last and Always is my fave album

btw, it's considered a goth band

Sisters of Mercy is NOT a new band, it's been around for a very long time.
