Half a shot glass of red wine before going to bed really works. Also, try lighting a couple of scented candles in your bedroom a half hour before going to bed.

Hylands makes a great homeopathic herbal remedy called Calm Forte, I use that alone with Celestial Seasoning sleepy time extra. Those seem to work for me if I start them about an hour before I would like to go to sleep.

I go to bed thinking I am so sleepy, but once I lay down my mind starts thinking of a million things that I need to do. One thing that works for me is to take 1-2 Tylenol PM's about an hour before I'm ready to go to bed. Hope this helps!!

I only sleep after two nights of not sleeping and then I fall asleep from exhaustion. The only thing that works for me is Restoril from a doctor. None of the things suggested, have ever worked for me.

I once read in this scientific article that the calcium in milk encourages sleep. I've tried it and it works. (I don't sleep well at night)
So there is a reason after all, why mothers give their children milk to drink before bed...

Hot milk is a known sleep aid, and get into bed and read something really boring like a class textbook. Works for me!

Turn on a fan or something to distract you from outside music. Get into bed. Pull the covers over your head, close your eyes, and wait.

Watch tv, read a book/magazine <---anything that gets your eyes a bit tired, so you'll be able to close them easily once you lie down. Or you can drink hot chocolate. It warms your belly! Or listening to music. =)
