your actions.... if only because they are how we quantify what we do...
now, if our thoughts were transparant to all, then that would be a different story.... because after all, we rarely show others what is deep down inside ourselves...

Your actions definitely define who you are more. Your actions are indicative of your thoughts; the way you act reveals how you think. If you believe something, but don't act on it, then that shows that you don't really believe in it. Actions are a manifestation of your thoughts.

"Like diamonds we are shaped by our own dust."
It means that we are formed by those we hold dear to us, family, friends, children. Children was the main idea. When you create a diamond you create diamond dust and that dust can be used to shape and polish other diamonds. I extend the metaphor to all those we reach out to touch because they touch us as well.
You are in a highly philosophic mood today.
Alright, actions and thoughts do not define us, people define us. They define us because they hope to understand us and their relationship to us. They want to know how close is too close and how close is close enough, and how close is too far. They want to make contact with another person to tell them you they are, that they are, why they are. It is a silly thing to define one's self by others but people do it all the time.
A thought is just a thought, but how others react to thet thought tells you whether it is wise or foolish, good or bad.
An action is just an action until it meets with an equal and opposite reaction.
Neither of them will define you but both will give you a chance to define yourself and others to do the same, define you, and define who they are as well.
Obviously, I am not defineable, but; you will do so. It is only human to do so. In this situation my thoughts and my actions are one so the answer to your question is simple, both. Taking a step back from that, your answer is now more apparent, "It depends on whether I am acting or thinking or both as to which will define me most."
And now for that little ditty of mine: Doers do as thinkers think and think as thinkers think they do and do as thinkers thought they did but do the recognize what all they have done or just think they do? I wrote that back in elementary school and i love it when it actually fits the moment.

Your THOUGHTS - cause if you didn't have your thoughts - you would have never THOUGHT to do your Actions that you have done or are THINKING of doing - It all begins with a THOUGHT in some way - shape or form
No matter what your Actions are they only demonstrate a SMALL portion of HOW YOU REALLY ARE on THE INSIDE -
Your THOUGHTS are the PUREST and Most ACCURATE description of your true self - even if your the ONLY ONE who KNOWS
What we do in our lives - for the world to see - isn't always exactly OUR TRUE SELVES on the Inside - Only we know OUR own True Definitions - NO ONE other than ourselves will ever quite see us the way we see ourselves or how we believe in our Hearts that we are
