My best friend of 6 years all of a sudden trying to dictate my love life. Example, for some of last year, I really liked this guy who I was friends with, & she didnt want me to be w/ him [shes never even met him, she only knows him by walking by him a few times in school] She told me, if things ever got romatic w/ this guy, she would stop talking to me. Now there this new guy I like, & our scheduals have been conflicting w/ trying to hang out. She told me I should be "just friends" w/ this new guy, because, "I dont have enough guy friends." And she also said she wanted proof of it happening, in IM conversation, telling him I just want to be friends.

Is it me, or does my friend have NO RIGHT doing this?! Shes a lesbian, & I could care less about happenings in her love life! She dosent even like me talking about guys I like, but she still does this! I'll be damned if Im gonna have some tell me who I can & cant be with. How do I tell her this w/o it effecting are friendship?!

I'd say, if she is insists that you don't date that guy she better have a reason. It sounds like she is doing it without apparent reason and that's called controlling behaviour. No, she shouldn't be doing that. The most that is acceptable is she'd say "Hmm, I don't really like the idea." The rest should be your decision. She is tryign to blackmail you by saying that she'll stop talking to you if you date him. That's not friendly at all. That's controlling.
And the idea or "proofs" as IM messages - well that's just ridiculous, sorry. noone should be allowed to stick their noses so deep in your personal life.

It is your decision not hers how many (if any) male friends you should have.

You know what? I think she is bi, and she wants that guy to herself.

Your friend is psycho. Maybe she has feelings for you. Well, what I think is that, you should tell her how you feel. Just tell her exactly how you feel she shouldn't dictate your life. If she's your real friend, she'll learn to stay out of your love life. IF she is too stubborn and won't stop, forget about her. SHE HAS NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER! If you would never do that to her, why is it that you let her do it to you? Speak up and tell her the truth! =) Hope everything goes well.

Sounds like a rocky friendship! How can you say in 1 sentence that she is a friend and then in the next sentence say you don't care about what happens in her life? Friend you are?

Your so call best friend needs to find herself a life... Tell her that who you dating or seeing does not effect your friendship, so tell her to back up... Also, i m wondering if your friend dont want you to have a bf, because she's also having problem finding her own bf... so find your love, dont let her tell u who and not to date... Take Care...

It sounds to me like you're both too young to even be thinking about guys, or in her case girls.

If you were old enough, these issues wouldn't even be coming up. Let me guess, you're in 7th or 8th grade?.

mothers would be mothers no remember how previous you're, yet once you're working finished time, it may be fairly helpful to start up searching on your own place. you stay under her roof, and that (regrettably) means having to respond to to her. attempt telling her which you savour her love and concern, yet you're a huge lady who needs to make her own judgements and blunders. sturdy success to you.

could it be that she likes you?

because she rejects every guy you like, but insists that you should be friends with these guys. is she saying that she will ignore you if you date them, so she wont have to see you with them?

sounds a bit fishy to me.
