For some, it is. But for a few unfortunate ones, it is metabolic.

Some people are heavy because of the medications they are on, some because of metabolism, some because they like to eat. But some have had a lot of trauma in their life and food was the only thing that could comfort them.
So, now why don't you get a life and don't worry about over weight people. It is their life and they are not interfering with yours. When did people become so damn ignorant about other people. It is pretty damn good, in this country that we live in there is so much bigotry and predjudism.
You know some people with heart disease retain lots of water, and that makes them look fat, but their hearts are going out on them and they are dying. My kidneys are failing on me and I retain water, so I am heavy. So think before you start passing any judgement!! Diabetic meds can make you gain weight, also. I have heart disease, thyroid problems, diabetes and my kidneys are failing, so tell me: HOW AM I GOING TO LOSE WEIGHT WITH THESE HEALTH PROBLEMS!!!!
By the way, I probably eat a lot less food than you do. How about 2 slices of toast and coffee for breakfast or an egg and 1 pancake. Lunch a sandwich or cup of noodles and coffee or water. Dinner, maybe a piece of meat and a potatoe with either coffee, water, milk, coke or tea.
Snacks, night time- cup of tea and maybe a handful of nuts.

have you ever been heavy? i once heard that our bodies are genetically designed so that you're meant to be a certain size. if your body wants you to be a size ten, then it's going to make it very difficult to ever go below that. there's more to it than control. there's the speed of your metabolism, your predisposition for weight issues, and general enviornmental factors. saying that lack of control is why people get fat is like saying not enough reading is why a person is dyslexic. so, if your question was meant to educate 'fat' people, i'd have to say it won't work.

I gained 50 pounds in six months after being rear-ended at a stoplight by a drunk driver. It knocked me hard into beyond middle age. I don't think loss of one's self control is the sole reason for obesity.I had never had problems losing weigh prior to the accident, either.
It is very easy to judge others without walking in their shoes.

to some extent you are right, but often it is also genetically determined.
in any case what is wrong with a bit of fat?
its the inner person or people,in the case of very fat people,ha ha ,that counts.
dont be vain and shallow and judge people on looks.

only for few... its hereditary, metabolic and diseases are also the cause of people being overweight....actually the people who are fat bcuz they don't have control are lucky bcuz control is can be retrieved while diseases are hard to cure and u can't get rid of ur genes

obviously you know nothing of being heavy, most overweight people eat a comparable amount of food to thin people. it's in how your metabolism reacts thats the deciding factor in weight. food can also be addictive, just as drugs are. try being a little empathetic and not so judgemental. i was 280 pounds at one point and until i found a nutrtional plan that worked and freed me from my demons i was stuck. i lost my weight thanks to dr atkins, and i eat more now than i ever did, it's in what you eat and not how much.

Sure, but that's the hard part. You can't just say, "Be in control," and expect it to transform somebody magically. There are habits that need correction, and information to be learned. That takes time and often help from others.
