No. I don't think God created STDs to prevent casual sex anymore than he created viruses to prevent social gatherings. Or that he created the Black Plague to elevate the social standing of rats. Or that AIDs is a curse on homosexuals.

I think all the diseases of the world are Mother Nature's doing and Mother Nature is God's doing. This is one of those situations addressed in Rabbi Kuschner's book "Why Bad Things Happen to Good People". It's all part of the Great Plan and the Great Universe. We are on the wheel of life.

Yes, we can avoid certain diseases by our behaviors but they will still exist for others. This question raises many other issues, but it is apparent that you are doing some deep thinking and that gives me reason to hope...

Philosophy of Religion is where I have my expertise in and sometimes it is interesting to answer questions like yours. Did God create STDs so people wouldn't have casual sex? It may sound rediculous, but it isn't. The question is just as legitimate question as the question like did God want 3000 soldiers to die in Iraq.

There is a reason why I cannot and I do not answer NO to your question. Perhaps God wanted people to have STDs. Who really knows? I cannot even say YES either. But I would like to point out that the fact that people have gotten STDs and people can get STDs from casual sex is there. My point is that if "Got created STDs so people wouldn't have casual sex" is good enough to be brought up; "God wanted people to have STDs" seems good enough to be brought up. It is because regardless of which view you hold; the facts that are out there are the same.

Who knows?

I like your question.

It is indeed true that casual sex runs a manifold risk of STD spread. We can not prove if God exists... but if He does, then certainly what you say is very much in the realms of possibility. There would be a purpose to curtail casual sex which can be highly detrimental in many ways to the institutions like marriage, family and even society.

I think the government created some std's (aids)after trying to create a chemical agent or some viruses to control populations in Africa. Do your research.
Also, std's come from people who have gone to far in the sexual realm of things and did some unexplainable acts only to pass on bacteria from animals, plants, possible dead bodies... strap up pal.

If you believe in the traditional religious dogma about ‘who’ god is – then yes, of course my child, it was created so that men can see their wicked ways and turn away form their sins.

If you are awake and not one of the dead that are actually sill swallowing ridiculous fairy tales – depending on the STD, their either balancing factors for our health created by our bodies, or the weapons created for biological warfare by your people in power.

Fact: Did you know that a healthy pregnant woman going for a routine blood test can show up positive for aids thanks to her abnormal hormone chemistry - when in fact there is absolutely nothing wrong with her.

Fact: The body never does anything to kill itself; it is us that kill the body. It only knows one thing - sustainment of self. What are you taking or shooting into your body?
