At the 2-hour mark, my father would deem the game "Monotony" and we had to PAY $200 every time we passed "Go".
We also do the Free Parking - - all fines or taxes were paid into the middle of the board, and when someone landed on Free Parking, they got all the loot. The bank then seeded it again with $100.
For some reason, we always require everyone to go around the board once before anyone can buy property.

We always put $500 in the middle for Free Parking. All Taxes and Fees go to it too. We also do trades with Immunity (for a determined amount of time anywhere from 2 landings, to entire game) BUT YOU have to remember that you are rent free or you pay up. No one else can remind you. and we're a little cutthroat so no one would. Land on go and get $400 instead of $200. and not all properties on the board have to be purchased before you can improve on your own monopolies.

1. This is by far one of the most insane and fun things to do when playing Monopoly with a large group or a party of friends!
Everytime someone goes to Jail, everyone's property is passed clockwise, until someone rolls the first pair of doubles! It could be 10 turns before someone rolls a single pair of doubles and when there are houses and hotels on the board and the person who just handed your hotels to, happens to have the privilege of you landing on Boardwalk which you originally owned, they collect the rent, if doubles weren't rolled yet LOL!
Another great twist of this awesome rule, is while someone is in jail trying to roll doubles or pay 50 bucks and another token piece rolls and lands on Just Visiting the deeds get passed clockwise again, until that first double gets rolled, where property is returned to the original owner.
Once doubles are rolled all original properties are returned, but the next time it happens you one more player in a clockwise motion.
2. Another great party rule with up to 6 people playing max. When someone lands on free parking, they count the number of players and give them numbers in clockwise direction. So if you are a playing a 4 person game, you would give out 3 numbers.
Now the fun part the person that lands on Free Parking now has the ability to roll the die and if he rolls a "1" the person to his left must take all there deeds and fan them out just so the player that landed on free parking can just see white edges. That player the can steal 1 deed from that player and keep it.
I know what your thinking, what happens if Hotels are on the property, well they keep the hotels or houses, and you now get a 3rd of the cut for the monopoly if your lucky to have that predicament.
3. Last of the party rules that I like, if you land on a rail road that is owned by someone else and roll an odd number in the process of landing on the property, you pay normal value. If you roll an even number say 10 and land on a railroad, you double the rent for the number of railroads owned by that person or team. So railroads could make you up to 400 bucks if you have all 4.

putting funds under unfastened parking places too lots funds back into play, making it puzzling, if not impossible to bankrupt the different gamers. it incredibly is the reason you have chose an entire Sunday afternoon to end a game. This single homestead rule is the reason that maximum human beings think of Monopoly is a 6 hour game. in case you only play with the respected regulations, a 4-participant game basically lasts approximately ninety minutes.

We put the money in the middle and start with $500 in the pot. We also will deal all the cards out to make a quicker game.
When we play with our 8 year old we will make a all rent call for when we are distracted or need to leave the game real quick.

If you drew a chance or community chest card that would HELP you, you could pay some amount of money to shuffle it immediately back into the deck. If you have hotels on boardwalk and get the "advance to boardwalk" you could pay some cash to put it back in the deck and not have to wait for all the cards to be used.

if you land on go you get 200 instead of 100...
if you own lets say baltic, you are on baltic and the other player gets on baltic with you on it... pay the fine, and then roll also paying the number you rolled times 10 just for fun...
if you are in jail, and someone else ends up in jail, you both roll best out of 3 to see who gets to break out of jail...
plop well over 3000 dollars in free parking to make it really awesome if someone lands on it...
if you roll the dice and one of them happens to hit your own hotel or house you lose that house, kind of like a violent act of nature...
these are just some of the fun things my brothers and i have added to the game to make it a little more interesting...

Well when I play most off the time we ask each other for a loan and we each have our own different interest rates. Mine used to be $50 a turn because I didn't like people to take loans from me.
