It is very, VERY unlikely that you can get pregnant while menstruating.

When you're menstruating, your uterus is shedding and discharging the lining which could have supported a fertilized egg. While menstruation is occurring, your uterus isn't ready to support an egg.

Also, you're not ovulating at this time. There's no egg in your fallopian tubes and what's left of your most recent egg left with the uterine lining and blood, so there's nothing to get fertilized.

If you got pregnant during this time, you'd have to be one of the most fertile women in the world.

Despite what alot of people said yes you can. Even though you are young its alright to ask this question cuz I am married and 29 and I just wondered this question myself and have researched it. You can get pregnant right before your bleed, during your bleed and after your bleed depending on your body and the way you ovulate. The chances are not so positive but it can happen. If you do not want a baby at this time(wait till you are older trust me) use protection that will not only protect you from pregnancy but also from diseases. You want to settle down with your life and make sure that the guy you choose to be the dad is going to stick around and be there for you and the baby.

Everyone makes mistakes we were all young at one time too so give her a chance do not put her down. She came to us for help so the least we can do is help her not insult her.

Yes you can still get preg even though you are bleeding. There is no *safe* time to have sex unless you are already preg okay. Beside sex while bleeding, you have a higher chance of catching hiv. BE SAFE and always use 2 forms of protection because the only the thats 100% is NO SEX AT ALL!! Use pills & condem or pills & foam

A fertilized egg will implant into the uterus. once you're menstruating, you're shedding your uterine lining. If an egg had implanted or began to implant, shedding the of the uterine lining might want to be too harsh of an surroundings for the egg to strengthen and change right into a fetus.

Did you use any kind of protection?? You seem way to young to have sex, since you need to ask a simple question like that.

Yes you can get pregnant. Stop having unprotected sex...evidently you are too young and naive to be having any type of sex if you can't answer this question yourself...
