first step would be to read the owners manuel and make sure its plugged in . if you still have trouble take a computer class

Can't beat a good dummies book. Computers for Dummies, Internet for Dummies, they have one for pretty much any occasion. They are written in plain english and cost about 20 bucks. Good starting point. Best of luck and welcome to the digital world!
