It would depend entirely on the amount of pleasure you derive from sex. If the amount is insufficient, it could be construed as overrated. On the other hand ... it could also be construed as UNDER rated. (hehehehe)

The pleasure of sex is not what is overrated in American culture, but Americans think sex is unnatural. Americans are the most hung up about sex of any people on the planet. If they really thought it was simply a purely natural thing, it wouldn't be expressed over and over and over in nearly every TV show and movie made in this country. If someone mentioned eating fruit that often, you would suspect he had a sick obsession with it. The beauty and pleasure of sex is not present in America any more.

Not if your doin it right. If anything it is one of the few things that isn't overrated. I have been in a commited relationship for about 4 years now, I make sure my lady is always satisfyied. Hell, most times she gets off two - three times compaired to my once! It is almost always fantastic, you just have to stick around long enough so you both learn each others likes and dislikes. If you are inexperienced, sex isn't going to be that great untill you and your partner are comfortable enough around each other to really relax, learn and enjoy. Like they say, pratice makes perfect. Don't be afraid to ask your girl what she likes, if you can't pick up on the signals she is giving you.

Hi! Yes! I talk to so many groups of people (seminars) and find many people feel this way---mostly women--but men also. I think that's why we are messing up our nation. We are loosing the art of meaningful conversation and deep relationships. Sex is an easy salve for what is hurting. It's not making love as much as scratching an itch. We are getting spoiled, and disposable. We use each other. If sex was more tempered, we would have to face nature, life a relationships more. That would be a good thing. See Ya!

Now it's become like such an important thing, like everything just about. i don't know, I did have a friend who came back after her honeymoon and said it wasn't that great, of course she did get divorced later on, maybe she never loved the guy. If it was really so great though, it seems people would just go have some sex to reconnect and avoid divorce , etc, but that doesn't happen.

now look at all the answers so far, all the men claim "of course not! you're doing something wrong" but there are a few females who say YES. thats because guys are easy as hell to get off, but getting a girl off actually takes a bit of work that most guys arent willing to do or dont do it right. so 40% of america (males) will say no while 60% (girls) will probably say yes, give or take a few percentage points.

Certainly not.
Many countries are less inhibited about sex than ours is.
I'm much more worried about the prevalence of violence in our culture than sex.
