The best thing you can do to relieve acid reflux is by trying some apple cider vinegar. I know it might seem weird but you can bet it will work. Take 2 teaspoons in a glass of water. Try it a couple times a day, and you'll see results. This is what works for a friend of mine...good luck

Since the FDA has posted new warnings about Nexium, Prilosec, etc, there is no quick, easy treatment.
Diet, weight loss, age related, smoking, drinking can aggravate acid reflux.
One remedy that gives me relief, is eating a small piece of orange peel. Chew it until it is mushy then swallow. A couple pieces a day will give relief.

The best thing for this is a glass of milk. This is because milk is not acidic so it helps to settle things easier, and if you try medicines they are actually acidic which in the long run makes the problem worse. I hope this helps, dont worry used to work in a pharmacy.

Some things you can do for acid reflux include: raising the head of your bed (ie putting the legs at the head on cinder blocks so it is on a down slope), don't eat late at night and don't lay down after eating, avoid alcohol, avoid fatty foods, avoid peppermint, don't smoke, also sometimes chewing gum or sucking on lozenges reduces symptoms. I hope these suggestions help.

OTC acid reducers work really well, and learn to sleep in a comfortable reclining chair. That's what my doctor told me: I did it: and years of heartburn and misery disappeared.

Good luck and stay healthy. And watch your blood pressure, cuz that's probably next on the slate...

Swallow one tablespoon full of regular yellow mustard. I know it sounds crazy but it has relieved mine on many occasions. One mustard packet is approximately 1 tablespoon if you don't have a bottle or jar.
