I started using the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor recently. I started it on December 17th, the first day of my period and my first test was done on the 22nd. It read only one bar. From the 23rd, up until this morning, it has read 2 bars every single day. It has not detected peak fertility. Does anyone know why it could be reading high fertility for 16 days in a row? Maybe I am doing something wrong? Thanks so much for your responses.

I don't think people understand what I mean by fertility monitor. It shows your low fertility, high fertility and peak fertility with either 1, 2, or 3 bars, respectively. This is an electronic test. There is no reading of test sticks...the monitor has a computer in it that does this on it's own.

I'm using the Clearblue Easy Monitor too, and the first month is super frustrating. Thankfully, I had a friend "warn" me about it before I started using it. Apparently, it's pretty rare for the monitor to give a peak reading on your first month of use, because it hasn't "gotten to know you" yet. (This particular monitor has a memory that compares your cycles to each other after the first one to better anaylze the samples.) Therefore, you're likely to get high readings in the first month, but it doesn't really know what "peak" is for you yet, if that makes sense. I got nine days in a row of "high" during my first month of using it as well. The second month went much more smoothly.

Good luck to you - I hope you don't have to find out how much easier the second month is! :)

ok, so 12/17 was CD1 (cycle day 1) --- 12/22 was CD5. Your LH surge is usually about 24-48 hours before ovulation and if you typically ovulate on CD14 or 15, then your monitor should pick up a peak reading on CD12, 13 or 14 IF it was done correctly, It also takes a couple months of consistent correct use for the monitor to really read your levels correctly.

Also, it could be that though you may have regular cycles you are not ovulating. While youre monitor is getting acquainted with you, you can also use OPK's you get from the store or online as a 'second opinion' starting from CD11 until you get a positive result (which is TWO dark lines of equal intensity - 2 lines on an OPK usually always show up - what matters is that the darkness of the two are the same). You use mid-morning uring (not first urine of the day) because LH typically surges in the very wee hours of the morning so it will not show up in urine until after the first voiding.

Anyway - after 3 years of TTC and having been through all that and more, I hope that helps. :)

My Monitor did not display a Peak Fertility Symbol this cycle. What does this mean?
There may be a small percentage of cycles in which you do not see Peak Fertility Status. There are a number of possible reasons for this, for example, a test may have been missed or performed incorrectly or you may not have ovulated this cycle. An unusually short or long cycle may result in Peak Fertility not being detected. If Peak Fertility is not detected, the Monitor may show High Fertility for an extended period of time. This may be as long as 19 days. If this occurs, it is unlikely that you will be fertile during this entire time. If you do not see Peak Fertility over a number of cycles, speak to your doctor.

First, read the directions again. Two lines doesn't mean anything unless the 2nd line is darker than the first line. Ovulation kits work very differently from pregnancy tests. Two lines is ok, its color that matters. The link below can tell you more.
