She always hangs around my locker at school, runs up my phone bill telling me how much she likes this guy, is a complete drama-queen, etc. I don't want to be rude because she tells everyone that I am her BFF (nobody else will put up with her). HELP!

I would consider the pros and cons of cutting of the relationship. How much longer do you have left in that school? Chances are it's just a couple years, and then you'll be done with her - you will go to different high schools or colleges and can conveniently lose touch. But you will have made her school years tolerable because she had a friend - and it sounds like she has no others. It's a sacrifice on your part, but one that might be worth making.

However, if she's mean or has other traits that you simply can't stand, you might decide to break off the "friendship". Try to do so in the least hurtful way possible, and remember that this is someone you might have to see daily through the rest of your school career.

You know there are times people come into our lives for a reason. Talk to here about being a drama-queen and explain to her its not healthy for her and for you. Ask her about what she tell others about your friendship.Tell her about the phone bill ask her if she can help pay for her calls. Be up front and honest without being mean or rude. You might be surprised of the outcome. She may need someone like you to become a better person.

Handle this situation as if you are in a normal relationship. Tell this girl "I need my space for a while. I feel overwhelmed at the moment and need some time for myself. I need to be alone so that I can figure out some issues that are very important to me.

Please don't hang around my locker cause I need my space and, don't run up my phone bill cause I'm already in the hole with that. I'll be spending some time alone for a while. Don't take that personal. I'm still your friend.

Don't answer the phone when she calls again. Maybe she will get the message when you don't return her call. If you don't want to be her friend then just say I'm sorry but you and I are on different pages in the book and I'm at the end. LOL
