The first answer is no, because they don't fit together right.
The second would be: could I artificially inseminate one with the sperm of the other and get viable offspring and the answer is definately not, because the genetics are different see below.
The third answer is a question: Are there animals that look like squirrels that have short tails and hop at times. The answer being yes, but I can't name them.

Um, I doubt it's possible. There would be several reasons: Genes are totally different. They both eat different things, they live in different environments... etc. Also, naturally in the wild - this wouldn't happen. They are two different living speices that wouldn't interbreed. But just because this isn't possible in the wild, doesn't mean some stupid scientist isn't going to try and cross breed them. Don't give science ideas - we shouldn't be playing God.
