So you know for certain that you're ovulating and not just producing large follicles? You've had mid-cycle ultrasounds to confirm this as well as mid-luteal phase labwork to confirm ovulation occurred?

The test you're referring to is a HSG - hysterosomethingogram (LOL!) and while you're lying on a x-ray table, a contrast is shot up your uterus via a tube that has been intracervically placed and x-rays are taken to ensure there are no blockages in your fallopian tubes. This is not a comfortable test, but it's not as bad as laproscopy. anyway - if you're trying to conceive and you know that you're ovulating, that your lining is good, that your progestrone level post-ovulation is adequate and that your husband's boys have been tested, then this is the next step in determining what the issue is.

It's an amazing image, that's for sure - i never realized just how long those fallopian tubes are until I saw them lit up on the screen.

Testing of the fallopian tubes is a very common procedure. A woman has no way of knowning if she is passing the egg, the egg is microscopic. You really need to have the HSG to make sure the tubes are patent and it will help find the cause of your issues conceiving.

Yes,mine were tested. It is called laparascopy.I am not sure about the spelling. But if the tubes are closed, the egg won't go through it.
