The Tempest is my favorite. There is a ship wreck acted out onstage, there is a wild forest full of fairies and beasts and even a drunken clown. Does it really get any better than that?

Whoa, just one? I really love Hamlet. Very intense. It also has a great "woman going mad" scene.
I also loved "A Midsummer Night's Dream". A really crazy, mixed up farce about love and magic. The Bard really had a twisted sense of humor (in a good way). Even my 12 and 13 year old kids loved the opera by Benjamin Britten based on Shakespeare's play.
One of my favorite classes in college was on Shakespeare. If you get a good text or teacher that can explain Shakespere well, you will find it amazingly entertaining and you'll be a fan for life.

My personal favorite will always be "Romeo and Juliet" but "Hamlet" has to be Will Shakespeare's best hands down because it encompasses so much drama and complexity. You've got love, anger, revenge, and incest all in one package. It's like a Freudian soap opera.
And you can't get more Shakespearean than Laurence Olivier. Rent or buy his version of Hamlet; you will not be disappointed.

Othello.
It is absolutaly genius, considering the means of manipulation the takes place, and the effectiveness. I believe that nobody understood people more than Shakespeare.

I've always like Much Ado About Nothing. Granted, it's not considered one of his best plays, but the interactions between the characters always fascinated me. Benedick and Beatrice are my favorites. I love how they reject society's norms only to be caught by them in the end. And it has a happy ending.

"Macbeth" (fun to act out, great themes, great characters), "Taming..." (hilarious, witty, themes again), "R+J" (classic, basis for most of what I like to read and write, romantic).
I like most of Shakespeare's stuff, though. Hamlet is quite brilliant, as well.

Hamlet, because of how he deals with death. I also love how he explains how a king can pass through the body of a worm, and that we fatten other animals to fatten ourselves and we fatten ourselves for worms.

I happen to like Othello the most. It is all about jealousy and envy.
