If yes, how would you know?
If yes, what are you lying to yourself right in this moment?

Being God’s gift to humanity and being better than others are beliefs and for these people these are as believable as is for us that the sun is rising.
A lot of you were very SINCERE to yourself to recognize that you tell yourself something while, maybe, what you SEE is different. It’s when you have to decide between two appearently opposite realities.
I think there’s a paradox in this issue, because the liar has to be aware of some reality and the lied has to be unaware. It’s interesting to me that the decision to think about “I’m not tired” as reality is conscious, so it’s not like when you lie to other people.
For the moment, Story Queen’s answer is the best, and I am also very curious about what do you feel deep inside that tells you that you are lying.
Thanks for your examples from your own life.

Yes, it is possible to lie to yourself but if you are then you'll always know deep inside that you're telling the truth, so you can't lie to yourself like you lie to other people, know what I mean? It is possible to pretend that something is different about a situation, but you'll always know that it's not. I'm not lying about myself at the moment, and I don't plan to.

Right now, I'm not. Lying is self denial. Let's say I tell you that I am a 35 year old female and am typing at my computer in my pj's and it is after midnight... am I lying? Listen to my words and read between the lines.. do I sound female as I type this? I know in my heart I am because I'm here at 12:16 am cst.
Dreaming could be a form of it as well. "Some day I'm gonna be an actress.... " I'm kidding myself on that aspect and therefore a lie to myself... sounds like an oxymoron but the best way I can explain it- does that make sense??? Thanks for reading.

I think some people get so caught up in their lies that they start to believe the lies.. They get into a pattern where they lie so much that later on they can't even remember what the truth was to begin with.

It's absolutely possible! Everyone does it when they are told about something they did when they were children and they don't remember! If you tell yourself something long enough it's true! I've told myself many lies, btu the most recent one was when I told myself I didn't cheat on my boyfriend. I kissed another guy! It is cheating even if I didn't sleep with this other person! I was unfaithful by letting another man put his lips on mine! It was wrong and unfortunately I feel guilty about it but can't be honest with him or myself!

As shakespeare mentioned in one of his plays that a lie becomes truth to oneself when you lie so much and so often that lies becomes truth you beleive.

Some do it quite well. They seem to believe their lies.
I'm telling myself, my eyes don't hurt, and I'm not tired.
