the answer is b. This is due to the bonding formation of the compound. A, C & E are all ionic compounds - therefore highly unlikely to form gases at room temperature. D is a silica compound which can form covalent networks - and is unlikely to be in gaseous form, which only leaves B because this can only form weak dipole-dipole bonds (these tend to be in gaseous form - like SO2, SO3 etc)

The other oxides are solids.

The simplist way would be to look up the properties of each individually (could even use wikipedia) and process by elimination.
