or the question didn't go through properly (it happens sometimes) and if i didn't see it listed in the category i'd ask it again.

Some questions on here (assuming it was on here) get covered up. I usually just look at the first page of questions. The newer questions push the older ones to the back, and sometimes I don't see them at all. This could be what happened to yours, or people either didn't find your question important, or they didn't have an answer. Who knows.

If it was in Y!A, I would feel slightly displeased and would extend the time given for people to answer.

Otherwise, it's a bit complex. If I asked the question where no one could hear me, I would not be too surprised. Probably I would have been talking to myself, in which case I would be responsible for providing the answer. Or I might be aksing an imaginary creature, in which case my feelings would depend on our relationship, my beliefs about that relationship and, possibly, other considerations listed below.

If I would ask the question where one or more other people could hear, my feelings would depend on numerous factors, like:

1) Did they actually hear me?
2) Were they paying attention?
3) Could they understand the question?
4) Are they thinking it over?
5) Have I left them speechless?
6) Did they feel like part of the conversation?
7) What were my intentions in asking the question?

Assuming I am engaged in discourse with one or more entities who are not otherwise distracted and who understand what I asked, etc., I might feel any of the following, depending on the specific situation:

Ignored, Im/patient, Angry, Frustrated, Annoyed, Irritated, Pleased, Superior, Inferior, Depressed, Embarrassed, Satisfied, Smug, Tormented, Enlightened, Sick, Proud, Ashamed....

Many feelings are possible. Depends on the details and the context.

I would think that maybe I asked the wrong people.

Did it happen on here? You might want to ask it in a different category.

Or I would consider the possibility that maybe it wasn't important after all.
