Does anyone share my views on John Thaw that he was one of England's best actors? I watched a re-run last evening of one of the Inspector Morse series. I have watched the series about 10 yimes already, every time there is a re-run on Hallmark, I watch it. I think he had the most superb voice and was generally an excellent actor!!

I totally agree, for me he certainly was one of Enland's best actors. (even tho I always had to tell myself he wasn't the Morse-character, when he played roles in other series and movies, know what I mean? I miss him)

Though quite young at the time, I loved The Inspector Morse Series. The only time I was allowed to stay up late!
John Thaw was a very talented actor and the part he played was perfect for him. I can remember feeling quite sad for the character he played a loner kind of guy who had been through alot of grief. He would drown himself in his drink, when alone.
He was good in the Sweeny too, from what I can remember.
He will always be missed

Yes he was a brilliant actor. The Sweeny was 'must-see' TV in the 70s! I love Morse, really great television. Goodnight Mr Tom was superb too and I also loved the last thing I saw him in which was Monsignor Reynard about a priest in the war.

We get Inspector Morse in SA at the moment, and both my Mom and I stay up till all hours just to watch. He was brill!! I have also seen him in some other movies and series, which showed what a talented and adaptive actor he was. We are gonna all be sadder for his passing.
