Does "immunize" in Spybot is its real-time protection that prevents things to come in?

Immunize would Block the Routes from which Spyware can enter into the system. But new Routes would be discovered every day and the Immunize database is updated every now and then. So recommended to Update the Immunize once a week and re Immunize the system so that more Routes are blocked.
