To work this problem set it up as a subtraction problem.
11:13 - 10:36 =
Change the 11:13 to 10:73 (one hour is 60 minutes and 60 +13 = 73).
This now gives you
10:73 - 10:36 =
Now 73 - 36 = 37 minutes

There are websites that calculate the time for you (and I do this sort of thing at work, which I still find the mental math annoying), but let's try a mathematical approach.
All you have to do is convert 10:36pm to 10 hours 36 minutes and 11:13 to 11 hours 13 minutes.
Now, convert both of those to minutes. Note that
10 hours = 10 x 60 minutes, or 600 minutes.
11 hours = 11 x 60 minutes, or 660 minutes.
10 hours 36 minutes = 600 minutes + 36 minutes = 636 minutes.
11 hours 13 minutes = 660 minutes + 13 minutes = 673 minutes.
All you have to do to find the number of minutes is to now subtract 11:13 with 10:36.
673 minutes - 636 minutes = 37 minutes.
