Hello and Thank you to those who took the time to read and answer my question.
I am currently a sophmore, and have always been interested in Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. I know that G.P.A is a major factor in pledging any sorority. My question is. during my freshman my grades were very bad(withdrew from classes due to family problems), Although I managed to bring my grades up and maintain my G.P.A, I would like to know will that affect my chances in receiving an acceptance letter to join the line?

Depending on your school, it's all in who you know. Is your GPA over a 2.5? Do you have community service? If not, then worry about those things first before you think about pledging a sorority in which your grades may drop even further. Remember: there is always Grad chapters!

GPA is just a beginning step in becoming a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. We are really big in community service without that there is no point in trying to join. You also have to stand out as far as other activities like SGA or any other clubs.
