Take this from someone who got to witness what Petrino can do. Living here in Louisville I've been able to witness not only how great of a coach he is, but how he has turned Brian Brohm into a monster. However, it's his play calling that will change the pace in the ATL. Petrino took Micheal Bush from a QB and turned him into the Heisman Candide (preseason) for this year before he broke his foot. So Petrino knows how to handle guys that can run. He likes to run, which is why Vick will do well under Petrino. He'll let him run when he needs to, and Petrino will show Vick how to be that accurate passer that he has bestowed on every QB he has coached in Louisville.
The next step though in order to help Vick out is to get a reliable #1 receiver. If you package that with Petrino, I'd say you have very deadly passing attack in Atlanta now.

IF you go by Brian Brauhm, then the answer is no. Brauhm, Petrino's QB at Louiseville is not the Mike Vick Type of QB. He isnt stationary, but he is hardly modile like Vick. Brauhm thinks throw before anything else, pass pass pass pass is what Brauhm thinks, Vick thinks pass run run run run run. And thats why vick will never be a consistently dominant QB in the NFL.... i think 5 years is more than enough time to say thats a fact, and this is just how Vick is going to be, and Petrino wont last very long there with Vick as his guy. I mean, Drew Breese was taken in 2001 as first pick in second round, it took breese 3 year for the light to go on, but it finally did, now look at him! And i think its more than fair to say Vick has ALOT more talent than Breese.... so what the hell is wrong with Vick? Maybe they should just move him to WR or RB and be done with it.

Not a chance.
Vick relies on his legs too much as a QB. It is completely ridiculous to have a QB run for over 1000 yards. He is way to inconsistent in the passing game. Vick is not the guy to lead the Falcons to anything. They have an average defense with good talent. Offensively they are fairly loaded. I feel sad for Petrino in taking this job. Vick is a coach killer. They play of the ball relies too much on him and his legs. When he runs he may get hurt and that, in most cases, ends teams seasons. He has no pocket presence whatsoever and is developing into a run first, pass second type QB. Petrino will help develop his passing and coverage reading skills, however, he will not be able to overcome the arrogance of Vick and the lack of knowledge to pass first then run.

That is a good question but I would hedge on "No". I have always thought that he would be a better RB than a QB. Yeah, he can through the tightest spiral on the planet and I'm sure there are a truck-load of fans out there that will say I am crazy. However, when he came out of Va. Tech, he had some sick 40 speed like 4.2. I grew up in Detroit and have suffered for endless years but this guy has Barry Sanders moves. He will never be converted nor ever will want to be a RB but Michael Vick could be scary as a featured back.

I think Petrino can bring out the best of Vick. Mora did nothing for the good of Vick or anyone else on the team. I will be looking forward to the next season of Falcon's Football.

No, Vick is a "coach killer." Petrino is a good COLLEGE coach. He has a horrible personality and won't be able to manage and lead the players in the pros. He'll fail just like many other college coaches that try to make the jump to the NFL did. Oh yeah, and he's a chronic liar.

Nope. Vick is overrated.
If you have no accuracy, and cant complete passes, youre not a quarterback, youre another runningback. And a team who's offense is almost entirely rushing are the easiest to shut down. Theyre like a "one-trick pony"
Atl has a great backup QB, they really should just trade Vick. I understand "vick is such a great athlete" but so is Allen Iverson and Lance Armstrong, but i wouldnt want either to be my QB

of course not, Vicks had five years to devolp into a passer. but look out for matt shaub, hes a smart and accurate passer that petrino can turn into a pro bowler in a year or two.

If Petrino will comprehend Vick's outstanding skills and discover a greater robust helping solid to play with him. i might lots fairly see a sparkling extensive receiver corps with Jim Mora Jr. on the helm!
