Just open the photo into Paint that comes with your computer. Then save it as JPEG or JPG. Be sure to change the name.

Simply open the picture in a picture program like Ulead, Photo Impressions, Photsuite, or many others. Then click on the programs "save as" tab. Use the pull down menu to select the format (.jpg or .jpeg) you wish to use. You can keep the same name (since the format is changed it will not overwrite the old file) or give it a new one. Click and you are done.

You can take it into any photoshop program and just change it there, sometimes it can even be so easy as to re write the file from BITMAP to JPEG.

changing the extension doesnt convert it. It doesnt change the file size, or actual format. Need to use a convertor.
