She is totally rubbing everything her son fought and died for in the dirt under her fashionable heel.

CINDY SHEEHAN IS THE DEFINITION OF A MEDIA WHORE

Lots of kids have to enlist in the army because they are poor and just want to be able to pay for college. I hardly call this volunteering. The rich kids have mommy and daddy to pay for their college so that don't have to join the army and die in a senseless war. So, NO Cindy Sheehan isn't doing her son disservice. She lost her so to a senseless war that we shouldn't be in. She wants to save other young men and women from dying in this war.
Do you have no empathy for others? Shame on you!!

The thing is, the "volunteer army" volunteers to protect the United States. Iraq was not a threat to the United States. Everyone knows this now. Colin Powell has commented on how he was forced to support it (that's why he quit.)

The White House is run by "neo-cons." Everyone should learn who/what they are. Their agenda and primary concern is NOT the well-being of the United States of America. Our military is being used as a mercenary force to do the bidding of Israel and lobbyists.

Make note, I am not a liberal. I am a conservative who has become aware of the lies being perpetrated by the (hijacked) Republican Party. I only wish that other republicans would open their eyes. I truly know that most republicans are paleo-conservative and don't agree with the neo-con agenda, they are, however, unfortunately ignorant of the situation.

What do you think her son CHOSE to fight for? Don't all American soldiers fight to uphold and defend the Constitution? And, based on the Constitution's Bill of Rights, don't all citizens have the right to free speech? Don't you want all citizens to demand accountability from their leaders and government? Do you think Ms. Sheehan's son wanted other sons and daughters to die FOR NOTHING? She, above all other people, has the right and the duty to question why her son was sacrificed FOR NOTHING. He certainly wasn't defending American freedom in Iraq given Iraq never, ever threatened us. I am absolutely certain he would root her on in her right and just cause, unlike this atrocity in Iraq.

It may not be any of our business, but as a social issue there is a debatable topic here. I have always felt exactly what you said, he was over there because one ASSUMES he joined our military forces, so he was sure to know that even if we weren't in war when he enlisted that there is always a chance in land in harm's way. I empathesize with her as far as losing a child, but to blame the government, or worse, one certain person (George Bush) just won't help her in any way.

I believe she is. She is entitled to her opinion- something her son died for- but she has also taken to criticizing EVERYTHING. In the last couple of days she was in Cuba, for goodness sakes, protesting Guantanamo Bay. If she is willing to do this kind of publicity stunt for Cuba- one of the most oppressive nations on earth, then it tells me it's no longer about being a grieving mom.

Yes, completely, I understand her pain and anger but if her son were alive today I'm sure he would be against everything she is doing.
