It hasn't always been my first choice to feel "ordinary", but I've come to realize in my dotage that I'm more than good--heck, I'd even say great--at some things I do (writing, cooking, organizational planning, etc). I realize there is a flip side to that which means I'm terrible at other projects (I have my own personal banker--not because I'm rich, but because I have to call every few days to find out how much I have in checking/savings, need help balancing my checkbook, remembering codes and passwords. The bank decided it was easier to have one person "handle" me. This way the tellers weren't fighting over who was going to get stuck with me that day! Just kidding, but you get my point).

Like in love and war I don't much believe in middle ground. If that's the case, then there are some things in life that I'm just average at--ordinary. Even the most gifted person isn't at the same level at everything--a few points higher here, a few points lower there--voila--something had to be ordinary even for that person.

There's nothing wrong with being ordinary unless you're ashamed of yourself--or someone else--for being that way. Another way to look at it--it's a lot easier than taking Pepcid AC or popping Valium to stop being stressed.

I consider ordinary the minimum acceptable level of existence, I'm comfortable at that level when I'm there

Rarely, I am always restless for something different, but that also depends on what you define as 'ordinary' ;)

No not ever. Who wants to be average. My mama taught me to aim for the stars and you might land on the moon.

Yes I have. This is not something I am entirely proud of, but that is the truth.
