To tell you the truth I'm not overly impressed by Kobe's playing style as the end all for winning games. They also won when he dropped 62 and 81 and lost before when he scored 58 and less then 20. Jordan's team won 72 games when he led the NBA in scoring so this whole calling the NBA's leading scorer a ball hog is stupid at the very least. In my opinion Kobe hasn't really canged his style at all. I've watched every Lakers game this season. He'll drop 50+ one night and then score 8 the next game which is why he's only averaging 18 shot attempts a game. In my opinion the Lakers would be better if Kobe was averaging 30+ if he could keep his % up and Odom was 20+. Don't get me wrong the way they are playing will get them 50+ wins but not 60 or 70+ like Jordan!!!

I want to add when Jordan demanded the ball his team mates gave him the ball and when Kobe demands the ball he doesn't get it and the Lakers have had a very easy schedule so far.

I have to agree the idea was for Kobe to get his shooting % up and assists up without averaging only 28ppg.

I've never been a fan really. But I do have to admit, his play this year has been off. I think he made a mistake when he couldn't exist with Shaq though. Kobe would have only had to wait another year or two and he would have been the star. They would have won at least two more if Shaq was healthy... I guess that's why I don't like him. He thought he was the better player. And although, Shaq has been fat as of late, he was the more established player in the NBA. All NBA greats have shot a ton, but most also are steller in other stats too, ie defense, assists, rebounds, steals, being a overall team leader. I think the biggest leader on the Lakers right now is Turiaf and he doesn't even play. Kobe is not a good leader. Good player, not a team player though and until he averages 30 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds at least and learns to coincide with his teammates a little better, he won't be a great. There just should be this much debate about a great.... The fact that everyone is so split shows that he will go down as one of the best from his generation, but not THE best. His generation is from the days when no one watched NBA. Now it's back and players like Wade, Lebron, Melo, Bosh, Dwight Howard, Dirk, Amare have all around games. And they just don't seem to have the *********, they have cofidence, which makes a world of difference.

I'm sorry, but I think the Jordan's era was over. I dunno why people keep searching for "the next Jordan", maybe because he was that good. I do admire MJ for his accomplishments.
I just think Kobe changed his approach to the game a little bit by being the facilitator since last year's playoff and scored more points if he only thought he needed to.
I am impressed by his decision-making this season.

i replaced into actually taken aback. he isn't even a starter. only upload wade and bosh and robinson (in the event that they ever get those gamers) to the beginning line-up and that i see a championship for the knicks that season.

HE IS LEADING HIS TEAM TO THE PLAYOFFS.
JORDAN IS RETIRED AND YOUR OPINION THAT KOBE SHOULD AVG MORE POINTS MEANS THAT YOU KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT BASKETBALL.
