The planets came from the Big Bang - what happened before that is not important because it has implications, namely it's possible that it's not consistent with the laws of science that we have now. If the world started at a singularity, literally anything can pop out, since all of our laws break down at this point. We cannot measure nor make any accurate predictions, we can simply guess.

Creation, huh? Let me guess your next retort will be: 'Have faith.'

The planets didn't come directly from the Big Bang. The Big Bang created mainly hydrogen plus a few other elements. These condensed into the first stars, which were massive and burned out relatively quickly. As they went supernova they created all the other elements that make up the solar system. Over billions more years, this dust and gas condensed into the stars and planets we have today.

Astronomers think that when the Sun was forming, not all of the material made it into the Sun. Some of it was left over, and this left-over material "settled" into nine or so main rings orbiting the Sun. (A key piece of evidence in favor of this theory has been the discovery of rings of material around other stars). over time the material in the rings collided together to form the planets. it's being suggested that the asteroid belt out pass Mars is a failed planet that did not gel together.

the site below helps to explain more on how planets probably form.
