4x^2-22x+10
=2(2x^2-11x+5)
=2(2x^2-10x-x+5)
=2{2x(x-5)-1(x-5)}
=2(x-5)(2x-1)

(4x - 2)(x -5)

Trial and error. You are basically finding two numbers that are factors of 10 (and equal 10 when you multiple them) and are sums of 22.
You know it is two minus signs because it is addition after the constant and negative after the first degree variable. After that, you just try out different numbers to see which ones work out.
