I had my third baby almost nine months ago. I am still nursing and have not resumed having periods yet. Every once in a while I will feel a kick or spasm that sort of feels like when I was pregnant and the baby would kick. Anyone else experince this? I am pretty sure I am not pregnant.

Like I said it was almost 9 months ago. But since I am still nursing, it is common to not get your period for several months (I usually have started after each of my girls are at least nine months)because your body still sort of thinks your pregnant. A lot of people also count on not having their period as birth control. It's always possible I am.

That is probably just your stomach muscles contracting in an attempt to go back to the way they were prior to your pregnancy. Since you have had three kids, your muscles may be very stretched out. It can take a while for that to stop. Give it a few more months and if it doesn't quit, consult your doctor. Oh,and as a mother with one baby, it happened to me for a while too.

Yes I would tell you that a few months after I felt kicking like sensations, but not longer than that.

If you haven't resumed periods in 9 months, you should really get checked out.

Right after you have a baby, they say you are extremely suceptible to another pregnancy because your cervix will still be open for a while. My doctor put me on the "mini-pill" it's called, a safe birth control to take while breastfeeding.

They also contradict by saying that if you continue breastfeeding you can't get pregnant easily and that could be the reason you have not had your period so I guess it really depends on your body. Everyone is different. Make sure you visit your doctor to make sure everything is ok.

When my son was 3-4 months old i had a "kicking" feeling that lasted on and off for a few days. I have no idea what it is. All i can say it is the weirdest feeling! I was not pregnant.

I was right there with you until you said your baby was born nine months ago. I did feel "ghost" kicking for maybe a week or two after having a baby especially my first one. But certainly no longer than that.

LOL I'd go get a pregnancy test if I were you because you should have had your period 5 months ago. Hmm, just enough time for a little one to be the age in the womb where they start making themselves known by kicking. Coincidence?

i know some women have severe gas after they deliver that could be causing that. i had that problem after my 7 month old, but i'm pregnant again now so i can't tell you if it would have lasted this far. it felt like similar to kicking for about 4 months off and on.

I believe that it's just your uterus contracting back to it's normal size. I think it takes longer and is more noticeable after your first child. And I know that breastfeeding causes your uterus to contract a lot stronger than it would if you werent breastfeeding. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you're that concerned I would go to the doctor. Good Luck!!!

I have this thing too and I'm not pregnant. My muscles and my pulse are doing it.
That's cuz I have thyroid problems. Maybe you can ask your doctor to screen you for thyroid problems.
