Of course people like it, that's why it makes millions of dollars a year, yes it is violent,, but that is the attraction.
if you think about it there is little difference between WWF and 'The Bold and the Beautiful', they are both soap operas with a massive following, both provide an idealistic setting when the imagination can live out your wildest dreams.
The fact that they target different demographics is a minor difference as the net result is the same from the producers point of view, both provide addictive entertainment that keeps the fans loyal and tuning in day after day to get their fix of Backstabbing romance in the fashion world or Backstabbing Violence in the wrestling world.
Simply put it is good TV for its target audience, should you let your kids watch it well that's up to each parent to decide. With parental supervision i think its OK and great fun to watch.

it's entertaining, and these days it's so toned down anyways. i don't know where you find it gross( with the exception of big dick johnson) and it's all still scripted and fake so the violence is not real(which everyone on the planet knows.) It use to be very prestegious back in the good old days with the AWA, NWA, and WCCW. even when WCW and WWF were fueding it was still good entertainment. I'd encourage my kids to watch it if i had any.

My kids watch it. Well one of them does. He knows its fake. If my kid was retarded and he couldnt grasp the concept that it was fake just by watching it then I would have to sell that kid at the flea market...cause I dont think I could handle having a kid that stupid. My kid he laughs at it most of the time. I think 2% of the time he saw some actuall wrestling...but we just beat the hell out of him so he has a true grasp of the concept. :) Monday nights is family night!
Seriously though I do think its kinda gross too though. Seeing those guys in tights with the fat rolls rollin is pretty nasty. Its sucks though cause most of them have pretty hair....when washed that is.

I love the modern WWE. A lot of people don't because its not serious enough, but this is the reason I love it. Probably some of the funniest **** on TV at the moment.

It's all fake, so watching it is about as dangerous as watching Spongebob.
