Yes! Men can get UTIs and it's extra bonus painful for them. The urethra swells, so they end up in considerable pain.

She should see a doctor not just for his sake, but for her own. Unchecked infections can cause serious problems.

I hope they're using protection.

uti's are not sexually transmitted. they can happen as a result of sex due to e coli from around the anus being pushed up into the urethra. this is usually avoided by peeing immediately following intercourse. as for men, it is far less likely for them to get uti's because their urethras are much longer, and the bacteria have further to migrate.

Men can get urinary infections, but it's usually not related to sexual activity. It's often due to urine retention in men. (Older men usually).

Females have more bladder-kidney infections after sex because the urinary opening is so close to the vagina. She should, for her own health, not have sex until the infection clears. She is more apt to be get re-infections.

But again, men typically don't get urine infections from sex. Plus you can't "catch" a UTI (urinary tract infection). Any of the answers that say yes need to go get educated.

It's possible, yes (although not very probable). Her boyfriend should be urinating after sex and washing his penis off just to protect himself. She should also get some antibiotics right away before it gets to her kidneys.

My husband has had it. No, a male cannot get it from a female. She needs to pee after sex to avoid these infections.

yes he can. Because when they engage in intercourse some of the natural vaginal discharge gets into her partners penis which is his urethra (pee tube). Also, his sperm comes directly out of his urethra where his pee comes out, so yes they can pass it to eachother
