Is there any service out there that I could get broadband from without signing up for phone service. Use cell phone instead.

Clearwire works off cell phone signals so all you need is electricity.

Definitely. Any cable service provider should be able to hook you up with broadband. I use Roadrunner/Time-Warner. Throughput is a bit faster and more reliable than DSL, in my experience. To get wireless, you'll need to hook up a wireless router to your cable modem (or DSL modem if you go DSL). The cable company will try to sell you one, but it's cheaper to get it from Frys or Best Buy. Or, in some cases, the cable modem that the company installs will have wireless built in (I know Verizon offers a wireless cable modem).

Broadband through your cable provider will get you a wireless connection, but you have to buy a wireless router.

If you don't want to go the cable route, T-Mobile offers wireless service as well.

Most Definately.

Either sign up for DSL with a "data only" plan, or get cable.

If you want to use wifi, then buy a wireless router to hook up to your connection.
