WOW! some days I feel like I can barely keep my own little circle of events in shape. I KNOW I am not qualified to be president of this magnificent, but slightly less than perfect country.
Oh well, dare to dream big. Here goes, look out all you congress people.
#1 I would press for concerted action on alternate fuels. Get this country weaned from foreign oil because it is sucking the blood out of our economy and may one day be used as an economic or political weapon against us. The big oil industry might wail like scalded cats at first, but they have a great deal of equipment that could be converted to be usable and they already have the transportation and distribution network needed so they would not be getting squeezed completely out of the loop.
They have enough resources they could adjust.
#2 Get homeless people off the streets.
In a country with a multi-billion $ economy where some people make millions of $ a year no one should live on the streets. Convert some of the ranshackle buildings into housing so they have a place to clean up and turn their lives around. I read a story in one of the major magazines a year ago about a woman with two kids who had a full time job but could not afford housing. They slept in a minivan at night in the secure parking lot of her work place and showered at a church that had a recreation center. They ate sandwiches, fruit, and raw veggies most of the time and took a charcoal grille to a park as a treat for a hot meal. That says there is something wrong with our society. Her husband died in an accident and didn't leave very much insurance so she couldn't afford to stay in the home they were buying. Where would the money come from? See #3.
#3. Establish an equitable tax system whereby everyone HAS to pay taxes according to their income. There would be a minimum tax no matter HOW MANY deductions people have. If that proved unworkable with congress, maybe even eliminate income tax and raise taxes on all items except necessities. That way the more money people have to spend, the more they would have to pay in taxes. The ultra wealthy would not be able to avoid taxes that way. Buy a 2.5 million $ yacht? Pay the big tax moneybags. Can only afford a ten year old used car? Pay the measly little tax.
#4 Covertly poison Kim Jong IL of North Korea so it appeared to be a heart attack. China no longer seems able to control the ego maniac and hope some more sensible person would take his place. If left to his own devices he will eventually start world war III because he doesn't have the sense of a duck in heat.
#5 Get the trains back in service.
Too many semi trucks are pounding our highways to pieces because industries want everything right now. The trains use 1/3 the diesel fuel to move goods and do not beat up the highways. That alone would save millions of gallons of fuel every month. And ultra millions in highway repairs.
#6 Increase the pay to our service men and women.
They are grossly underpaid for the tasks they perform. Appoint dedicated people to watchdog for waste in all military branches and reward each branch that impliments cost cutting measures that do not sacrifice the integrity of the military.
WOW my brain is going into overload here. I think I better quit now and give it a rest because there are suddenly a whole bunch more ideas popping up that I never dared to imagine before.
That's all folks......

The first thing I would do is cut all of the wasteful spending out of the budget. I really hate wasteful spending. Second, I would remove the red tape caused by the bureaucracies and create a business style efficiency system for the government to live by. In the end the government would be streamlined, and no longer in need of such enormous amounts of your money. A.K.A. TAXES.
After all I am very fiscally conservative. Third, I would set a new set of laws that would govern the world when it comes to the destruction of our planet. The military would be given the task of enforcement. The list would go on for a very long time, and we don't really want to read all of that. the last thing, Any threat to the United States would be dealt with swiftly and brutally. The terrorist threat would end.

#1: Rescind the state of emergency we've been operating under almost since WWI giving the Presidency extrordinary war powers (that's where all those executive orders are authorized by).
#2: Eliminate the vast majority of the cabinet posts.
#3: Sell or homestead out the extensive unconstitutional property (geographical, electromagnetic, etc.) claimed by the federal government and use the proceeds to fully pay off and fund all debt obligations.
#4: Refuse to sign any legislation which cannot be readily and simply understood by the average citizen, which tries to be an omnibus bill with amendments and addendums not covered by the title of the bill or one which contradicts the Consitution as it was originally written and meant.
... lots more but basically getting the government out of the bedrooms, out of the billfolds and off of the backs of honest peaceful citizens.
