I work for a commercial printer.
So our printed prrofs need to match the final printed product.
We use an Epson 7600.
With a few tweeks, we were about 90-93%% color accurate to what was on press.
But being a design firm, and if $$ is no object, go with a hi-end Epson, and some color managment software.
We just invested in GMG software, and our proofs are now 98-100% press accurate.
Nothing but compliments from customers.

Just remember, if a customer give you something off of a $40 desktop inket printer, and they "must" match it for color, turn the job done, it'll be nothing but headaches.

I would go for a cutter-plotter and an engraver too.
