How could a man that lost a fight to a Rabbit, ever win against terrorists?
Yes, he was attacked by a rabbit while he was going fishing, and the rabbit chased him into the water. Funny, but true.

Google Iran Contra.... That should bring up some interesting things.
I'll save you some trouble though. Carter tried to send in US forces in a covert mission that failed. This was before special ops existed. The Hostages were allowed to send something out, and they sent a piece of cardboard with "Thank you for Trying" on it. A former High level State official during the Carter Administration still has it.
Reagan went and negotiated before he became president to have Iran keep the hostages there. What did he use to bargain? He Said that if they did and he won, he would sell them United States Weapons in exchange for their release. Soon after he took office, he promised that the US would not negotiate with terrorists. As an actor, h was convincing, but a t the same time, Lt. Col. Oliver North and friends were delivering US weapons to Iran in an illegal weapons trade.
Carter Respected the law and was willing to make the decsion to allow a handful of US citizens to possibly die rather then empower a terrorist group. The Embassy staff understood that, and accepted it. Reagan Decided to subvert the laws of the United States and do the politically popular thing.
the only reason he wasn't impeached was because it was popular, despite being illegal, and that he did a pretty good job of covering his tracks. However, as time wears on we learn more and more about this stuff. We know most of it now.
You might also be wondering what he did with the money from the sale. He funneled it into the Nicaraguan contra rebels, who overthrew the democratically elected government there that we just happened to disagree with.
And this is the man who many people in the republican party still feel was the best president we ever had.

Do some research. The Iranians at the time HATED Carter. They hated him with a passion. They felt when Reagan got elected that they had won. They took it as a victory. (not knowing that Reagan was the real hard *** and would have bombed them had they not released the hostages.). They looked at it as a victory because they had caused an American president (Carter) his election. They released the hostages on the same day Reagan took office as a final slap in Carters face.
Seriously...do some research. You probably werent even alive when any of this happened were you?

Reagan - are you kidding me! Reagan, and his VP - hmmm... oh yea, Bush Sr. (who by the way was director of the CIA for a time - and put Saddam, and other pre terrorists in place to secure the oil industries hold on our nuts) Anyway, they made deals with the Iranians to keep them hostage, and in return gave them frigging weapons after it was over - which they used later to kill us with!!!!
Reagan ! Are you friggin kidding me!
Here's a good Q for you. Why didn't Bush Sr. go after Saddam? Because he knew that if would be a mistake.
Jimmy may not have been a very effective president due in part to the Republican conspiracy to F us all over and make butt loads of money in the oil and defense industries - Carter was partially ineffective because the man had a conscience and lived out his faith even in politics. That's a rare thing today my friend.
Being a good president isn't measured by starting a war - all of you retards who voted for George W. a second time fell for it hook, line and sinker.
We were lied to 1st by Reagan, 2nd by Bush Sr., and third by Bush Jr. 4th by Ronald Dumsfeld.
Since leaving office Carter has done more for this country than any president in history. He has always told the truth, and that has cost him.
Pull your republican heads out of you arsssses, and look at what you people have done to our country, and the graves of our soldiers.

This is just barely old enough to be considered history! Guns for Hostages? Iran-contra? How about Oliver North, surely you know him....the guy on fox news? Afraid of Reagan? Reagan bought the hostages and election. Any of this ring a bell?

October Surprise is right.
For him to have delayed release of hostages for politcal reasons damned hi fr all eternity in my opinion.
As a POW?MIA supporter the thought that any American can be left behind is bad enough but when the iranians actually made a move to release Americans and had it blocked byRegan and his GOP supporters, to make Regan look good is a crime worthy of not just Impeachment but treason, Aiding and abetting an enemy.

Actually the Iranians were so afraid of what Reagan might do, that they released the hostages the day that he took office.
Peanut brain Carter didn't scare them one bit.
