i am thinking about buying a gucci purse on ebay, well the prices around 300s and 400s $ . i think they are fake although i am not really sure they are authentic. but is it illegal to buy a fake designer bag, what about the replica bags on yahoo are they also illegal to buy? thx in advance

no, i do not believe that this is illegal but selling fake bags is illegal. But ebay is risky because you cant tell if the bag is real or fake from just a photo. So, you do have a chance of getting ripped off. If you are willing to spend $300-$400 on a bag then you should at least buy one that is DEFINITELY real. Good Luck.

This may sound odd but if you happen to know any police officers (as friends) you should ask them because either they know where the fakes are being sold or they actually have a hook up... I know that there is a "Catalog" of knock-off's making rounds in the Cook County Police... You can place an order and get anything from coach, LV, Gucci... You name it, I saw it in the "Catalog". Other then that you can just wander through flea-markets... I know they sell them periodically at the Tailor Street Flea-Market here in Chicago... Swap-meets are also good places to look. Good luck! It isnt illegal to buy a bag advertised as a replica .I just bought 2 LV replica bags online and no one would ever know they were replicas unless I told them.always use paypal when buying online I know this from personal experience.I was ripped of bad buy using a money order,paypal is insured!

maybe it's illegal to buy as well as sell it. anyway, those prices are still way expensive for fake items. here in asia, you can get fake bags for about $30. less if the quality isn't that good.

only if u get caught, but why buy them through there if u know they are fake just come down to either 5th and los angeles, or 7th and broadway, or 5th and san pedro and get it way cheaper there. I pass through there on my way to work so go and check if u want. I see lots of people do that man its crazy crowded. just dont go down to 1st and los angeles: police station (im there)

they probably are but what are they going to do to you? they can't take it from you... so go ahead and buy it. although from experience the quality will not be near as good as the real thing. save up some more money and buy the real thing. it will save you money in the long run.
