see i know that the n stands for the north pole but what does the other three mean? E? W? S? please help me it's a homework thing

E = east
W = west
S = south.

N = North (not only the north pole, but the DIRECTION north as the other letters are for the DIRECTIONS east, west and south.

A magneic north pole is nothign but attracted by the north pole and shows the directions opposite to it and either side of it as just named thus , with out north other directions are useless as per magnetism

magnetic energy on the compass, the magnetic north moves to the north no matter what, unless u attract the magnetic north with metal around u north stands for n, south stands for s, east stands for e, west stands for w and those in between s and w that initils sw stands for southwest and same with nw,ne,se sw.
