In basketball, if you are a post player, how do you get open for your team to pass to you? Where should you go on the offence? (Where to stand and stuff)

on the low box near the key....you use your hips and legs do position yourself infront of your defender and get the ball from a guard....not too hard.

my coach always tells us to go 2 steps to the outside of the block and 2 steps up...this way you have room to work when you catch the ball. Up to Highschool in the post you can put one arm up on offense to bat away the defenders arm, as long as you dont extend past your elbow. This gets me open a lot, and so does communicating with your fellow opposite post player and screening for each often.

I am a post player for my bball team and i get open by cutting across the lane or down to the block. If i can, try to seal off your defender so that your teamates will notice that you are open.
