I thought that would have gotten old by now, but I still hear people talk like that. Even my 25 year old college educated sister and her friends still say everything is "gay".

I know that's s gay how ppl call everything gay! what can we do its a gay world after all lol jkjk.
I was just talking about this today with my mom. see i was & still kinda am into saying the whole "OMG thats gay!" or "omg they are so gay!" thing. even if they aren't truly gay or the thing isn't really gay. i guess it just kinda replaced the word and phrase "Oh that is so retarded!" or "They are so retarded!" (im not meaning mentally challenged at all when saying that its just something people once and still sometimes do say) and its kinda like the word "retarded" replaced the word & phrase "that is so dumb!" or "They are so dumb!" see over time we just replace words even if they don't even make sense anymore lol. it happens lol but i like calling things and people gay even if its not true! lol.

Because even though people pretend to be tolerant they use that as an insult. No one really likes gays they just put on a front.
I'm not trying to insult gays, I'm just pointing out an obvious hypocrisy. I've even seen gays use it to insult homophobes. It's a mixed message of course, using what you are to insult someone else when they do it. If they really believed being gay wasnt bad they wouldnt be using it to insult anyone.

They call things that because as you know when you are not gay, you are straight (which also means correct). To alot of people, being gay is "wrong", and not acceptable. So if someone doesn't like something or things it was wrong, unjust etc.... they call it gay.

It's really inconsiderate, and not at all politically correct. But, it's very contagious cause it's so easy to say. I hung around friends all summer who said that, and it was hard to get out of the 'gay' habit. Lol.

Some people say it is retarded instead of gay. But they don't hate people with mental retardation. It could mean they feel it is effeminate to, not becoming of a real man.

it's just a cool expression
i say it sometimes online but it's changed meaning since homophobia has gone out of style... yet the expression lives on. i don't see it as an anti-gay expression.
