Iam going to install windows me on my dell latitude 266xt notebook computer. This laptop has no disk drive but it has a cd rom drive. Iam having to put a new hard drive inside the laptop as well. Would i have to have the boot disk or just windows me cd with the product key with it?

Oh man don't use ME. You're better of with win 98 or NT. anything but ME it is so unstable and full of quirks. Why do you think it only staye on the market 6 months. It's not worth the trouble of figuring out the install. You'll be uninstalling it in less than a month becasue of how troublesome it is.

just the cd with the product key....

but dude, i'm warning you, Windows ME is the most horrific operating system ever developed. Microsoft scrapped it in favor of Windows 2000 in less than a year. Serioualy, upgrade to Windows 2000 or downgrade to Windows 98SE

The CD is bootable, so only need the CD and the key.
