One of the best I can think of is as a pure research mathematician. You do mathematics for the sheer joy and art of doing abstract math. You goal is to find beautiful mathematics, and to tell the world about it.

Mechanical Engineering: you do math calculations everyday,
Cosinuses. Chemical analists: Logarithms. Nuclear Physicists: Calculus. Biologists, Electrical Engineers. Any scientific discipline: Statistics!
