It takes a healthier person to respond thoughtfully and empathically.
Something about the anonymity of the internet brings out the worst in a lot of people, and then it is just reinforcing unhealthy attitudes and behaviors.
It's been like that way back to usenet--the non-moderated forums were crazy way back then. Heck, even in the FIDONET BBS days people were trolling. It is a bit disturbing to see what the unchained ego is capable of.

Sometimes it's hard to know if the person asking the question is seriously asking a question or not. I know I'll throw a little sarcasm in there if I think the question is not really serious.

Yes I do. There are so many people who wouldn't know HOW to answer a question without being sarcastic it's not funny. It's great to hear from people who actually have something worthwhile to say. ♥

I saw your note. I don't know what made me come back down...glad I did.
You pick who you want.
This is a place, where it seems to me, people care.
Even when it's dark.
Do you like Maya Angelou?
I do.
We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.
Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.
We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
Peace :)

Yes, it is nice to be taken seriously. Some questions are meant to be silly though, so they do get some humorous responses. It's nice to get a blend of the two types of questions.

Some of the funny answers make me laugh until I can't breathe. Most of them are simply stupid or rude.
Yes, when I am expecting serious answers, that is what I hope to get, and it does my heart good to get them.
Peace to you :-))

No, I think maybe you're missing that they are being sarcastic in replying with what appears to be a 'REAL' answer.

I try to answer about half and half- sometimes I'll be serious and sometimes I'll be sarcastic. I use my super brain guages to decide the appropriate time for each.
