you are in desperate need of a good chiropractor, i had a pinched nerve and it was corrected by mine. make sure it is one who will do xrays and electro testing of each vertebrae
a nerve becomes pinched when your vertebrae are misaligned. waiting will just make it worse, as it will put stress on other parts of your body by trying to compensate.
massage might help temporarily, but you need to get your spine back where is should be..any questions, feel free to email me..
good luck

make a massage oil oit of extra light virgin olive oil and peppermint essential oil (sometimes I add lavender). A FEW drops of the essential oil goes a long way, since it is super concentrated. Never use essential oils, other than lavender and tea tree, on the skin undiluted.

Massage it yourself, or have some one else do it for you... Move your neck until you feel the sharpest point of pain.... dont overdo it though and gently gently ever so gently massage the area. I read this years ago in a magazine and love it. It does help, but the biggest thing is time.

hope that helps. The peppermint is very cooling and the lavender is relaxing.

OH! just remembered something. I ised to soak my sore feet in waer with Red pepper powder. Its a bit stingy at first, but then that goes away and relief comes. One can do it as a poultice too. to do that, you use hot water mix the powder in, put a washcloth in, and apply to your sore spot. when it cools, repeat the process. OR, you put a teaspoon of the powder in a washcloth, fold it over so that it is covered by two layers, carefully dunk it in hot water, apply, and repeat as needed. You can even add a dry towel above it to keep the wet cloth warmer longer.

Or, with the ayuvedic medicine, they use tumeric powder infused in sesame oil, but I dont know much about it.

I use a heating pad, but not the entire day. I find that if I do it in intervals it loosens up a lot quicker. I know they can be painful, but one of the best things to do is little movements. Sitting still the whole day won't do much, neither will stayign still with a heating pad. Like I said, intervals. Heating pad, then get up and do something around the house, cook something, clean a little.

Good luck! I had one new years eve, great way to go to a party eh?

Depends what's pinching it. If you have a herniated disc, you will probably want to see a doctor. If it's just muscular, you can try an OTC anti-inflamitory like Aleve and apply a heatting pad to the affected area. If that doesn't help, you can try a therapeutic massage.... not shiatsu. A therapeutic massage or sports massage is meant to target injured areas where as shiatsu is more for a general feel good massage.
